Video Stitching for Embedded Systems

RidgeRun’s Video Stitching solution is designed to combine multiple video inputs into a single panoramic or 360° view—with seamless blending at the borders for a polished, professional result. Built for high-performance embedded applications, it transforms adjacent fisheye or rectilinear images into continuous visual streams using RidgeRun’s Stitcher and, when selected, Projector components.

Ideal for robotics, 360° cameras, autonomous vehicles, and surveillance, Image Stitching integrates into GStreamer pipelines. It is available for NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075, and NXP i.MX95. The original CUDA-based version remains available for NVIDIA Jetson, while the newer OpenGL-based version extends support to the additional platforms.

On supported NVIDIA Jetson configurations, the original version supports real-time stitching of up to three 4K input sources at 30 FPS. Performance depends on the selected platform and pipeline.

Key Features:

  • Real-Time 360° or Panoramic Stitching
Merge multiple fisheye or rectilinear video streams into one stitched output.
  • Seamless Border Blending
Advanced algorithms ensure clean transitions at stitch lines, eliminating visible seams.
  • Supports Equirectangular Projections
Output video in formats suitable for panoramic viewing or further processing.
  • Built for GStreamer Pipelines
Integrate stitching into embedded multimedia applications.
  • GPU-Accelerated on Supported Platforms
Use CUDA with the original NVIDIA Jetson version or OpenGL with the newer version.

Example Use Case:

An autonomous delivery robot uses four wide-angle cameras to navigate crowded urban environments. RidgeRun’s Image Stitching solution combines these camera feeds into a single panoramic view, allowing onboard AI models to process the environment as one wide-field-of-view frame—reducing complexity and improving situational awareness in real time.

What’s Included:

  • RidgeRun Video Stitcher license for the selected platform
  • Projector or Lens Undistort when the corresponding add-on is selected
  • GStreamer integration with example pipelines
  • Calibration and configuration resources
  • Optional 11-hour Embedded Software Support package

Supported Platforms:

Original CUDA-based version (1.0)

  • NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX and Xavier AGX
  • NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, Orin NX and Orin Nano
  • NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000

Customer Reviews

"As a side note: just to let you know, I'm really happy to be working with RidgeRun in general. It's pretty clear that you tell it like you see it, and know what you do and don't know; it's really refreshing. That's super rare on these kinds of technical engagements when everyone seems to either want to claim expertise they don't have, or are so cautious they are don't actually say anything useful"

Customer Reviews

"RidgeRun has been so good that part of me doesn't even want to write this testimonial—because if more companies discover them, I might have to share the amazing engineers I get to work with. But credit where credit's due: their team is sharp, responsive, and consistently delivers beyond expectations. They make tough technical challenges feel easy, and that's rare."
